Head of Lab, Scientific Director at CERIT Science Park
Assoc. Prof. Tomáš Pitner, Ph.D. He earned his doctorate at Masaryk University in 1998 in the field of environmental informatics.
By 2012 he was dean, currently he is associate professor and head of the Laboratory of software architectures and information systems, he guarantees a Master's degree studies in Information Systems. He is a member of the Strategic Board of CERIT (Center for Education and Research in IT) and Scientific Director of the CERIT Science Park at Masaryk University.
Since 2007 he has been a visiting professor at the Faculty of Informatics of the University of Vienna, with which it continuously cooperates.
His research interests mainly include enterprise systems, monitoring systems, smart grids, smart buildings, communication in IT projects and supporting innovative business.
He was a member of the expert group for Software Services in the new EU member states within the EU FP7 project SPRERS and led the Czech team in cross-border ERDF Austrian-Czech project "International Constructive communication in the context of information and communication technologies' (iCom) together with the Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Vienna.
He leads the Czech Academic Expert Group for Smart Metering and Smart Grids and leads extensive contract research in this area.
