History of Lasaris

Lasasaris Lab was founded by Tomáš Pitner
Tomáš Pitner received his Ph.D. at Masaryk University in 1998. He is currently full professor and was founder and head of the Lasaris research laboratory until end of May 2025, a member of the CERIT Strategic Board at the Faculty of Informatics of Masaryk University and the scientific director of CERIT Science Park, in which he was a major contributor.
Since 2007 he has been an external professor at the Faculty of Informatics, University of Vienna, where he constantly cooperates with the Research Center for Educational Technologies. His research focuses primarily on surveillance and monitoring systems, critical infrastructures, web and enterprise software architectures and technologies. He also deals with communication aspects of academic-industrial cooperation. He leads large-scale contract research projects in the field of energy.
