Lab of Software Architectures and Information Systems
Our laboratory specializes in research, development, and education in the field of information technology and software systems. We focus on addressing both theoretical and practical challenges associated with the development of extensive software systems and infrastructures. Our primary areas of interest include the design of information systems, process and data modeling, and development process management. We also specialize in the use of software technologies for application development, including mobile platforms.
Currently, we are exploring the following topics:
- Trust Between Systems: We specialize in the issue of trust between different systems and autonomous entities. This involves the development of mechanisms and protocols that facilitate trust and secure interactions in networked environments.
- Internet of Things (IoT) Security: We actively research security challenges within IoT networks, including intrusion detection, protection against node replication, and the practical application of blockchain technology in healthcare and security systems.
- Visualization of Cybersecurity Exercises: We conduct research in the field of visual analysis of cybersecurity exercises, contributing to more effective cybersecurity education.
- Forensic Readiness: We focus on preparedness for conducting forensic analysis in the event of cybersecurity incidents, which includes evidence collection and analysis.
- Insider Attack Detection: We specialize in using process-oriented techniques for the detection of insider attacks within organizations, enhancing overall security.
The lab was founded in September 2008 as a part of the Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University in Brno. The core team of the Lab consists of regular faculty staff members and students of doctoral, master and bachelor study programmes. The lab cooperates with industrial partners and with the Institute of Computer Technology, Technology Transfer Office, associations and clusters of companies and non-university institutions supporting innovative business. The partners of the Lab include a number of foreign universities and research institutions, e.g. University of Vienna.
